A school board meeting on Jan. 22 will decide whether or not to approve current football head coach Steve Wood as the district’s new Athletic Director. If Wood is approved, former head coach and current Athletic Director Tim Buchanan will return to his previous coaching position.

These new changes would take effect Jan. 28. Superintendent Dr. Bohn said that once she learned Wood was interested in Buchanan’s position after he announced retirement in Feb. 2018, and later that Buchanan wanted to return to coaching, she suggested they switch.

Both Wood and Buchanan have expressed excitement in starting this new chapter in Aledo athletics.
