Marva Collins Teaching Awards

On April 1, the Reilly Family Foundation presented the Marva Collins Teaching Excellence Awards.

There were a total of 14 awards presented that ranged from Child Nutrition to Teacher of the Year.

Karen Kirkland won the Child Nutrition award, Mark Danz won the Transportation award, Gayla Gideon won the Technology award, Sabrina Gilbert won the Police award, Danny Gabbert won the Maintenance award and Melinda Bradley won the Paraprofessional award. Rachael Black and Juanita Britton were the joint winners of the Dan Manning Idea award, which is a grant given to teachers who come up with exemplary ideas. Cheryl Jones won the Don R. Daniel Principal of the Year award, Jennifer Hoover won the Don R. Daniel Assistant Principal of the Year award and Pamela Jones won the Marsha Miholovich Professional Support award. For the teaching awards, Krysti Kelly won the F. Howard and Mary D. Walsh award for Beginning Teachers, Hannah Parsley won the First National Bank award for Elementary Teachers, Beth Burdinski won the Hardick Family award for Intermediate/Middle Teachers, Jamie Rinehart won the PBS company award for Secondary Teachers and Nicole Dover won the Marva Collins Teaching Excellence/Reilly Family Foundation Teacher of the Year award.
