Ladycats Clinch District

After a regular season with much success, the Ladycats ended it by being undefeated in district games; making them district champions. On Jan. 29 the Ladycats travelled over to Abilene and defeated Wylie for the second time to stay undefeated in their district.

Wylie had a better offense than the last time these two teams met, leading 18-10 at the end of the first period. The Wylie Bulldogs continued to dominate the first half, ending the second period with a lead of 25-15. The third and fourth periods were contested, but the Ladycats were able to tie the game at 47 to send it into overtime. Both teams had good defenses in overtime, but the game came down to Wylie fouling twice; which let the Ladycats take a four point lead to end the game. The final score was 51-47. The Ladycats have two more games to play, with one home game left.

The Ladycats have a 22-7 record and a clinched playoff berth. The seven losses that the Ladycats have suffered were by teams that were not in their district. The Ladycats ended the year with a 6-0 record in their district.

The playoffs are projected to start Feb. 11 or Feb.12 and continue until March 3.
