“Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” directed by David Yates and written by J. K. Rowling, will leave any Harry Potter lover with their jaws dropped. J. K. Rowling does it again and provides another magical fantasy come to life.

This movie has given us everything we need; a look at our favorite characters, fantastic beasts, and Grindelwald played by Johnny Depp, the villain, who everyone hates. Every second watching this magical movie is like a dream; from the magical creatures to the action-packed fight scenes, this movie has every aspect of Harry Potter’s original charm in it.

This movie is the right mix of endless action, love, good and evil. The character development and the opportunity to learn each of their stories and see the connections made is how movies should be done. Credence played by Ezra Miller is built up as the most important character in the movie and the movie is really set around him being essential for the world of magic. From Grindelwald demanding to have him as his follower to Newt played by Eddie Redmayne was fighting to protect him, Creedence is the holy grail to everyone, they need him to prove something to the magical world.

These movies are a chance for any Harry Potter fans to live their dreams of seeing Dumbledore, special creatures, and Hogwarts again. I was amazed at the imagination and thought put into bringing the magical world back to life. The creature room in Newt’s house is a dream, and getting to see Dumbledore teach in Hogwarts is something we never got to see in Harry Potter.

You love and hate these movies. Hate, because you want more, and love because of the chance it gives you to live in another world for the two hour movies.

This movie represents some of the lessons and messages in the Harry Potter movies by showing how strong friendship can be. Just like in the Harry Potter series, the unlikely friendship of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, who come together to get through seven years of schooling, Newt and his friends have worked together against Grindelwald.
