Three Aledo Seniors Earn National Hispanic Scholar Recognition

As college approaches for many seniors, three students have been recognized for academic excellence. Alexa Martin, Betsy Martinez and Alyssa Purpura were recognized as National Hispanic Scholars through the National Hispanic Recognition program (NHRP). The program requires hispanic/Latino heritage, junior year PSAT scores that meet one’s regional minimum, and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Although the recognition is not a scholarship, it can serve as a marker of academic excellence within the hispanic/Latino community, and could lead to the acquisition scholarships.
