Black Panther Review

Black Panther movie poster

Fan-favorite T’Chala, first introduced in Captain America: Civil War, returns in style with his stand-alone film that features beautiful scenery and effects, relatable and loveable characters, and an exciting plot that keeps the audience hooked from beginning to end. Black Panther’s undercover operations, car chases, and ritual fights capture the feel of many different genres in one gorgeous and meaningful film. The supporting characters were strong and endearing, providing role models for anyone.

The very first scene transition, from an animated mystical African kingdom of Wakanda to a run-down apartment building in Oakland, perfectly embodies the Afro-futuristic feel and sets the stage for the political conflicts the movie demonstrates. The movie also does well to show African culture as sophisticated and advanced, which Hollywood is not usually able or willing to do.

While some profanity and much violence is present throughout, this movie is good and encouraging for people of almost all ages. Black Panther combines a strong message, impressive effects, and great acting in the same way that it combines futuristic technology and traditional African societies, that is to say, well.
