AHS Theater Department casts big net for Big Fish
Congratulations to all who claimed a part in the upcoming AHS musical, Big Fish, and a special congratulations to Dillon Savage, Jacob Brown, Cavin Dye, and Autumn Young for earning the parts of Edward Bloom, Will Bloom, Young Will Bloom, and Sandra Bloom. This year’s musical cast and crew will be the largest ever assembled at AHS.
Aledo Players have just completed auditions and then callback auditions for parts both large and small and also for all-important crew position such as props, hair, makeup, and technical positions such as lighting and sound.
Big Fish is based on Daniel Wallace’s novel Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions, and the film adaptation is directed by Tim Burton, who also directed the smash hits A Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride and Beetlejuice.
Big Fish will hit theaters (the AHS auditorium) Jan. 25-28.
Mrs. Carrington is optimistic about how the production of the musical is coming along. “We are on the third week of rehearsal for Big Fish, and everything is going extremely well!” she said, “We have an amazing team all around!” She also expressed that the cast, which is led by music directors Jacob Brown and Camile Krieger, as well as dance captains Emily Hensley, Gracie Johnson, and Gia White, has already learned some of the hardest parts of the musical; the designers and their crews have accomplished much as well.
