Bearcats claim District win streak
On a cool Friday night on Oct. 13, 2007, a small 3A school started the longest District win streak in a game vs. Alvarado High School. Fifteen shutouts, 4,189 points, and 75 wins later, Aledo has set a new District win record with 75 wins, surpassing the old record by 3 wins. “I feel confident in our team, and I am extremely proud to be a part of breaking a record,” Aledo quarterback Jake Bishop said about beating the record, previously held by Austin Westlake. The Bearcats are undefeated District champions for the 2017 season after a hard-fought battle against the Boswell Pioneers last Friday at Bearcat Stadium. The Bearcats will play Wichita Falls Rider at 7 p.m. on Nov. 16 in Saginaw in post-season play.
