Charlie Cale works at the Frost Casino as a cocktail waitress when the manager offers her a 5 million dollar job to infiltrate a secret poker game and win for the casino. When her friend and coworker dies mysteriously she gets distracted with uncovering the truth about her death and getting justice.
Cale is on the run from Sterling Frost Sr., a major casino owner because he believes she is responsible for the death of his son. She travels across the country under the radar. To avoid detection she takes jobs that pay cash and encounters murders every episode. She uses her ability to detect lies to solve murders and get justice for the victims. Throughout the ten episodes, Sterling almost catches her multiple times but she gets away.
There are plenty of guest stars in every episode, from Chloë Sevigny to David Castañeda as well as Natasha Lyonne as Charlie Cale.
In each episode, Poker Face shows the crime first and then Charlie uncovers each mystery. The way this show portrays Charlie as raunchy is well done and funny. Charlie Cale is raunchy and honest, considering she can always tell when others lie.
