Scheduled Road Construction
We want to make you aware of scheduled road construction on FM 5 that begins next week. This message will also be sent to all parents.
Aledo ISD and surrounding communities will soon be impacted by road resurfacing work which begins Monday, Nov. 19.
The construction includes 11 miles of FM 5 from I-20 to FM 1187 in southeast Parker County between Aledo and Willow Park. The project will begin at FM 1187 near McAnally Intermediate School, which is located at 151 FM 5 South.
Aledo ISD’s Thanksgiving break will be Nov. 19-23. Schools resume regular schedules Monday, Nov. 26.
The district is working with the Texas Department of Transportation and city and county officials to help minimize the disruption for staff, students and residents. Construction will be done on an abbreviated schedule, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and all day Saturdays as needed. TxDOT and the contractors are very aware of traffic challenges around the campuses.
The road work is scheduled to be done while students are in school. All entities are working to minimize the impact on bus transportation and parents arriving at the elementary campuses for daily release.
Weather permitting, the project is estimated for completion this summer. The contractor is expected to take advantage of the Thanksgiving break from Nov. 19-23 and make significant progress around McAnally Intermediate.
This $5 million project was awarded to Northeastern Pavers and will improve safety and mobility in the area by making full-depth pavement repairs and repaving all lanes.
Thank you in advance for your patience and for taking special care to keep our community’s children safe.
