Band Approaches Third Competition
After practicing during the summer and most of September, Bearcat Regiment has had two contest runs, with their first contest being HEB, in which they made finals, and BOA in which they placed 15. While the upcoming Birdville contest was cancelled, the UIL marching contest is still around the corner.
The first contest the regiment competed in was HEB. Bearcat Regiment won the award for outstanding percussion during prelims and also made the finals. The band placed eighth overall.
In the band’s second contest BOA Dallas, they placed 15 out of 31 bands. BOA is one of the more difficult shows, as it includes mixed 5A and 6A bands from Texas and Oklahoma performing.
The Regiment was hoping to have one more contest before the UIL marching contest, but Birdville marching contest was cancelled due to bad weather. Now they will have more time to prepare since UIL has been moved to Oct. 22.
