The 2021 Ledoian was recognized by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association with a Gold Crown Friday, March 18 in a virtual awards ceremony.

The Crown Awards honor top student publications chosen from CSPA’s members.  During Crown consideration, publications are judged on their excellence as shown by their design, photography, concept, coverage and writing. A total of 817 publications were eligible for judging.

The National Scholastic Press Association also named 32 scholastic yearbooks as prestigious Pacemaker winners, including Aledo High School’s 2021 Ledoian, during the closing awards ceremony of the JEA/NSPA Spring National High School Journalism Convention on April 9, in Los Angeles.

71 Yearbook Pacemaker finalists were named in December representing the top 22 percent of all entries. The 32 winning yearbooks represent the top 10 percent. There are three junior/high and middle school winners and 29 high schools.

The Ledoian is one of ten high school yearbooks in the country to win both a NSPA Pacemaker and CSPA Gold Crown this year.
