The Bearcats won the first game of the area playoff series against Burleson on Thursday. The second game is on Friday at Boswell High School at 7 p.m.

The first game was a defensive battle as both teams only had one run scored by the ninth inning. Burleson scored first in the fifth inning off a RBI single. It wasn’t until the seventh inning when the Bearcats tied the game.

In the twelfth inning with bases loaded, Sam Sisk ended the game with a walk off hit. 

To get to area, Burleson beat Trimble Tech in a three game series and the Bearcats beat Northwest High School in a three game series.

The Ladycats also advanced to area after beating Burleson Centennial in a three game series.

The winner of this series will play either Granbury or Mansfield Timberview.
