Boys and Girls Soccer Teams Advance to Playoffs

Both the girls and boys soccer teams have had a successful season and hope for more success as they start the playoffs. 

The girls first round of playoffs was at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 25 at Castleberry High School. The team played Birdville (North Richland Hills, TX) also known as the Hawks. 

The girls soccer team had an overall record of 13-4. They have won eight home games, four away, and one neutral game. Birdvilles girls soccer had an overall record of 19-4. They have won 11 home games and eight away. 

After last night’s game, the varsity girls are on to round two and the team’s overall record is now 14-4. It took a long fight but the girls came through winning the game 2-1. Junior Ashlyn Laughley, #9, was awarded Aledo Girls Soccer Player of the Game, scoring one of the goals and having an assist. Sophomore Mckenna Vela, #23, scored the winning goal, leading the team to victory. 

The boys first round of playoffs are against Colleyville Heritage. The game is scheduled for Friday, March 26 at 7 p.m. The game will be played at Colleyville’s home stadium. 

Colleyville’s overall record is 16-4-2, winning eight home games and seven away. The boys’ record is 7-6-1, winning two home games and four away.
