Basketball Midseason Review

At the midpoint of the season, the boys varsity basketball team is 12-9 and set to start district play today.

The girls varsity team has a record of 6-12 and have already started district play.

Last year at this point in the season, the boys varsity team was 7-14, but they rallied in district play to make the playoffs for the first time since 2015.

The boys varsity team will play Abilene Wylie high school to open up district play tonight. The boys are in second place in their division coming into this game, and Wylie is in third place.

Whoever wins will take or keep the second place spot in the division. The first place for the varsity boys division is Wichita Falls Rider.

The boys varsity team will play Wichita Falls Rider on Feb. 11 at home at 7:30p.m.

Last season, the girls varsity team was 11-7 at this point. That team made it to the playoffs and got to the Regional Quarterfinals.

With a win already in district play, the girls varsity team take second place below Wichita Falls Rider.

Their next divisional game is tonight at Abilene Wylie high school at 6:15p.m.

Both the boys and girls varsity teams come into this week still in playoff contention and are both in second place in their divisions as of now.
