Ladycats Lose Against Eaton

The Ladycats varsity softball team had a tough game on Feb. 26, losing 13-1 as they faced off against the undefeated Eaton Eagles.

Eaton scored five runs in first inning, added a run in the second followed by five runs in the third and closed with two runs in the fifth inning.

Maddie Wright was the winning pitcher for Eaton, only allowing three hits, walking one and striking out eight batters in five innings. The game was called at five innings due to run rule.

Freshman Kayleigh Smith and Senior Cierra Puente pitched for the Ladycats during the game, and Freshman Macy Graf led the Ladycats with two hits, followed by a single by Freshman Marissa Powell. The Ladycats lone run came in the third inning off a double steal.

The Ladycats will play next at the Belton tournament Thursday through Saturday.
