As the Bearcats head into the first round of district playoffs Friday, Nov. 15, against Chisholm Trail High School, pep rally season ended Friday, Nov. 8, and students discuss their part in the planning, preparation and production through different organizations.
“There’s a little bit of pressure but it’s more just excitement,” sophomore dancer Kinsey Patton said. “I put as much effort as I can and I always try my hardest for them.”
Her dance teammate sophomore Rose Lindy said she has been dancing most of her life, and there is nothing like the rush of performing.
“I put in lots of effort since I’m performing in front of my peers and my teachers,” Lindy said.
But the dance team isn’t the only star of the show during flex period pep rallies. Band members, student-athletes, teachers, counselors and administrators all play a key role in pulling off these events.
“I practice every day at my house,” Lindey said. “[Our coaches] make sure that we all understand what we’re doing and that we feel confident.”
With the last pep rally of the season gone, senior band member Jillian Guess said that she will miss having the opportunity to be a part of all of these events.
“Have as much fun as you can and not worry if you look stupid,” Guess said. “I’ll miss the community and the music itself.”
