The undefeated varsity Bearcats take on the 7-1 Richland Royals Friday, Oct. 25, at Buchanan Stadium.
“We will execute everything we’ve been taught to do correctly,” defensive tackle Orlando Churon said. “We’re confident, they’re confident—it’s going to be a good game.”
According to assistant coach Dustin Lloyd, the players take on each game with the same focus, training and expectation to eventually take on home the state title once again.
“It’s the same formula as we’re preparing for Denton Ryan, preparing for Smithson Vally at the state championship game,” Lloyd said. “It’s preparing the kids for the looks they’re going to see on Friday on all three phases of the game.”
While fans prepare to cheer on the orange and black, the players are counting down the minutes until they charge the field.
“I feel confident,” offensive lineman Caden Crooks said.
