On May 3, Coach JD Robinson announced his resignation after leading the Bearcat varsity team to their second playoff victory in program history. The program has been in the search for the next best fit. The program came upon Coach Brian Blackburn. Blackburn previously coached at Mansfield ISD Lake Ridge High School, Boswell, Wall and Whitewright High School. In his 16 year career, he has achieved many things. A total of fourteen playoff appearances, a 2012 5A state championship and receiving a coach of the year award. With this impressive resume fans of Basketball have high hopes for the future of this program.
