Every year Spotify releases a “Spotify Wrapped” around the end of the year to see total minutes spent listening to music, top artists, and genres. Wednesday morning, students began to post their Spotify Wrap top songs and artists for the year to give their opinions.
“My Spotify-wrapped artists were very predictable,” senior Jordan Bailey said. “They are the main artists I always listen to and I spent 36,811 minutes this past year listening to music.”
Many top genres frequently seen are country, rap, trap and indie.
“I was not expecting to see $uicideBoys$, and to be fair I didn’t get into listening to them until recently,” senior Colton Hodges said. “I think I would’ve preferred maybe something closer to my roots. I come from Washington so I thought I should stay true to myself, alternative, rock and metal are my home state genres, and I’ve been getting into that recently too.”
Spotify has kept track of minutes spent listening to music from users.
“I spent around 65,000 minutes which was a lot lower than last year,” senior Tony Madera said. “I was expecting The Smiths as my first because I love them but it ended up being Zach Bryan.”
