Volleyball Secures Area Championship
The varsity Ladycats volleyball team beat El Paso to become the area champions on Nov. 7. In the second round of Bi-District, the Ladycats won in three out of four sets.
The score of the first set was 19-25, the second set score was 25-20, the score for the third set was 25-20 and the fourth set’s score was 25-13.
The Ladycats will move on to play No. 2 Canyon Randall in a regional quarterfinals match on Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. at Vernon High School.
On Nov. 4 the Ladycats put away Lubbock Cooper winning the bi-district playoff match. The Ladycats won in all three sets: 25-21 in the first match, 25-21 in the second match and 25-18 in the third match.
The Ladycats won their district championship after beating Witchita Falls Rider on Oct. 22 in all three sets at the second to last game of the season.
After clinching the district title, they went on to play Abilene Cooper on Oct. 26, winning all three sets against them.
