School Board to Discuss Changes to GPA and Class Rank Systems
The school district has a specific policy for calculating students’ GPAs and class ranks that was most recently revised in 2001. However, the board decided to review it again this year and assigned a committee of school district staff members to the task. This committee has completed its task and will be presenting the proposed changes at a meeting tonight.
The purpose of this meeting is to inform parents and students of the potential changes and receive their feedback. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the DLC at the high school. After the meeting, a survey will be posted to the school website so that parents and students can express their opinions over the changes. It will be available from March 25 – April 12.
Because the changes may be extensive, they will not be implemented for students who are currently in seventh grade or older; they will affect the current sixth grade class (the class of 2025) and younger only. A video of the meeting will be uploaded to the website https://www.aledoisd.org/aledoisd following the meeting for those unable to attend.
