There will be a red balloon release and prayer for former Aledo football player Donald “Donnie” Evans at the AHS football stadium on March 21 at 7 p.m.

Donnie, described by former coaches and friends as “fun-loving” with an “infectious smile,” passed away at age 18 on March 17 during an apartment complex incident in Fort Worth. After leaving Aledo in 2016, he went on to graduate from Wheeling Park High School in West Virginia and was attending Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas.
