Halloween Plans for Those Who Have No Boos

For those who fly solo or people that have given up hope of receiving free candy from trick or treating, these are five plans anyone can roll behind.

1.Horror movie marathon

Run to theaters and catch the new “Halloween” which got a 79% on Rotten Tomatoes or go with horror classics such as “The Exorcist,” “Silence of the Lambs,” “The Omen” and more. Recent successful scares have been 2017’s “IT,” “The Witch,” “Get Out,” “Hush,” “It follows,” or “The Babadook.” This one is easy, as many TV channels are hosting horror movie marathons, while Netflix and Hulu also have a wide selection from which to choose.

2. Haunted houses

Fort Worth offers an assortment of haunted houses, ranging from Hangman’s House of Horrors, which is $30, Cutting Edge at $34, the Parker House Haunted attraction is $25 and Six Flags’ Fright Fest which is on sale for $50, which ends Halloween night. Fright Fest has haunted houses such as ‘Cirkus Berzerkus, Zombie Infestation, Cadaver Hall Morgue’ and many more.

3. Visit haunted places

If you are interested in actual scares, Fort Worth has a number of haunted tours to participate in such as Ghost Bus Tours, Stockyards Ghost tour, and Grandbury’s Ghosts and Legends tour. If you want to visit places without a controlled tour, these alleged haunted places are perfect, like the Screaming Bridge at River Legacy Park, Castle of Heron Bay in Lake Worth and the Fort Worth Zoo. Even though ‘Boo at the Zoo’ is over, it is said to be haunted by a 1987 caretaker who was crushed to death by one of his elephants. You can find out yourself if these places are really haunted or if it is all just a myth.

4. Pass out candy to trick-or-treaters

This one is pretty self-explanatory. Give back to the kids that you once were and hand out candy, giving them either a trick or a treat. You might even see a few cool costumes along the way.

5. Throw your own party

This one requires quick thinking but with the help of a nearby Walmart, you can get party streamers, food, games and anything else you might want to do at your party. You can also tell ghost stories with friends around a bonfire and roast smores. If feeling brave, you and at least three friends could play with an ouija board, which is $20 at Walmart, but remember to play responsibly and follow the rules.
